Go Somewhere Else to Enjoy a Movie. I would NOT recommend going to the Park Place Cinema if you are interested in seeing and listening to the movie. The place is very run down and there was some type of sound interference in the sound track. People complained to the management to no avail and they continued to sell tickets even though they knew the movie was almost unwatchable due to technical problems.

What a GREAT IDEA!!!. I'm all for it!! I love the fact that you took the time to tell me about what you are doing with the space with your renovations. It will be so great to be able to sit and have bite at your Cafe, and a drink in the Lounge it is a brilliant idea!! I wish more businesses had the vision you all are implementing. This will be the place I will continue to go see a movie for sure next time I visit Hilton Head Island. Clean great atmosphere and friendly faces. Great job, keep it up!!

Great!. I lived in New York for 20 years after emigrating here, and just recently moved down here. I have to say, my experience with Park Plaza Cinema was great. Everything is so much cheaper than up north, and the people here are so friendly, the owners and employees went to great lengths to make sure I was happy and comfortable. And believe me, I was. The seats are great, and so is the popcorn. I actually had a conversation with one of the employees. If I'd tried that up north, they would've just stared at me. To sum it all up; The food, employees, and atmosphere is great. A wonderful place to catch a movie.

Clean and Friendly.. I used to come every once and a while, just to catch a movie that may have not been showing at a different theater, or for the sake of convenience. But now that the theater is under new ownership, I think I'm gong to come here a lot more often. The new owners are almost always there, and if they are, they greet you warmly. The employees are friendly and helpful, and the theater itself gives off a relaxed vibe. Its well-kept, too. The theater is clean, the seats are comfortable, and the popcorn is great. Overall, its a great experience, and the soon-to-be beer and wine bar will only serve to make the experience that much classier.

What a nice surprise!. We visit the Island, once or twice a year. Last May, we came to see a movie and didn't enjoy our experience very much. Yesterday we gave it another chance and are glad we did! The new owner's were there to greet us and show us all of the changes and renovations that are under way. What a difference a few months can make! We can't wait to come back and see everything completed! It's such a great, comfortable theater, it's nice to see it getting this much-needed attention. BRAVO!

DON'T DO IT!. Whatever you do, don't go to this theater! It was truly the worst theater I have ever been in. First off, I'm under the impression that the theater is run by stoned 15 year olds- I say this because two of them were the only staff I saw both before and after the movie. I had to tell the one working the ticket booth three times in the span of about thirty seconds what movie I wanted to see (You wanted to see what movie? Oh ok. Wait, what movie was it?) Secondly, the place was disgusting; popcorn all over the floor, napkins in the seats, and candy on the arm rests--filthy. As if this wasn't enough, the movie didn't fit on the screen, there was extra hanging off the screen on both sides. Absolutely awful movie experience, please go to the other theater on the island, it is worlds better!

Don't waste your money. This is one of the worst movie theaters I have visited on vacation. It reminds me of a college dive you would only go see a midnight showing of Rocky Horror. The place smelled and the armrests were sticky. It was difficult to enjoy a movie while wondering what I am sitting in and not been cleaned in years. The sound coming from other screens was so loud that we couldn't keep attention to our movie. This place needs a complete renovation before I will ever go back. Thank goodness for DVD rentals while on vacation. Don't waste your money seeing a movie on Hilton Head, just wait till you go back home.

Under NEW MANAGAMENT!!, since July 2010. We are upgrading and renovating the look of the Theater. Hopefuly it will be a place where everyone who comes to visit wants to come back over and over again for another GREAT experience!

Theater not well run at all. This theater is very very small only 5 screens. On a rainy day in Hilton Head this is a problem. There was no one directing the flow of customers and shows are scheduled so close together that people were literally trying to get in and out at the same time. This was an awful experience. There is another theater on the island that I have been to before and would much more highly recommend over park plaza theaters!!!
