In Short – White cinder-block walls covered with buoys, enormous swordfish and nautical knickknacks probably haven't changed much since doors opened in 1967. Large windows overlook a fleet of shrimp boats working Skull Creek. A waterside deck and bar with occasional live music keep summer crowds happy while they wait. Shrimp is the menu cornerstone, but there's also fish, crab and oysters served broiled or fried. Golden fried shrimp ad plump fried oysters are standouts.
A Pleasant Surprise

I had been trying other seafood restaurants on the island after being disappointed with Hudson?s a few years back. I am happy that I have them another try. I discovered that lots had changed since my last visit. There was a new wine list with fantastic, yet reasonable selections and all the specials looked delicious. Our dining experience was perfect from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The service was outstanding. I felt as though she was 4 steps ahead of us at all times. The food was marvelous! The blackened shrimp with a green pepper cream sauce special was great and my wife?s Shrimp Pinkie was unbelievable! I?m sorry I waited so long to give them another shot. I will be back soon and would recommend other to give it another try if they haven?t been in a while!
Amazing Seafood!

Hudson?s restaurant was well worth the trip over to the north end of the island. The food was excellent. The menu offered a great variety of seafood as well as other main courses of pasta, meats, etc., soups and appetizers. Their special cocktail ?Drunken Arnold Palmer? was great. It is wonderful and refreshing. The atmosphere was nice and casual. The entire restaurant sits right on the dock and you can see the water from almost everywhere in the restaurant. We took a group of people and all ordered cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everything was great and it was extremely reasonable!
Expensive Bar Food and bad drinks

My husband and I went to Hudson's and got Bloody Mary's and Conch appetizers... the drinks were watery and the appetizers were just fried bread. We then ordered the fish taco's. They were ok, but not for the price. It was just fried fish in a flour tortilla.... I could have those for $5 at a local bar... I longed for the buffet we went to the night before at the Crown Plaza in Hilton Head... all you can eat seafood with crablegs and oysters! So, skip Hudson's and go to the Crown Plaza!!
- Pros: good service
- Cons: everything else
