Absolutely delicious and no kids to be seen!. We had a fantastic dinner at the Sunset Grille this past weekend. The food was great, the view was fantastic, and to cap it all off, unlike the rest of the island, there were no kids in sight! This place was thankfully kid free, allowing a pleasant, relaxing meal.

The Mahi-Mahi special and the Smoked Salmon were delicious dishes. Make sure you ask for the corner high-top table for the most romantic setting!

Bad experience for such a delightful setting!. Just as people remember a good food experience, they never forget a bad one either. Seven of us entered the restaurant looking forward to a great meal and a beautiful sunset, When we asked why we could not have separate checks, our waitress told us we could divide the check into thirds as most items were the same price. Not so! One person ordered a salad only, another an appetizer and only two ordered entrees that were the same price. We did not order drinks because of this policy.

Midway into the meal, I noticed that the chicken breast on the plate next to me had a soft red spot in the middle and was not fully cooked. When I mentioned this to my friend, she stopped eating it and put on her glasses only to recognize that this was true. The waitress saw us and came by the table and told us that there was nothing wrong with it...that "she would eat it." When the waitress removed plates from the table, she noticed that another person did not eat her crabcakes, When the bill came, the crabcakes were removed from the tab, the raw chicken was not. I asked why. The cook came out and said it was my opinion that the chicken was raw and that in her opinion, it was not. This was done with a surly attitude.

We were all appalled at the haughtiness and rudeness of these two women. It's a shame that such a lovely view of the water was overshadowed by such an inhospitable attitude. One can forgive mediocre food, but it is awfully hard to forgive or forget the insulting demeanor of these workers.

Where the locals go to eat. The place was reccomended by our local wildlife tour guide. He gave up his job as a commodities broker to enjoy life for awhile. Absolutely fabulous food, service, etc. Best value in the state, let alone the isalnd. A must for any discrimenating diner.

What a view!. The location and ambiance of the Sunset Grille is perhaps the best kept secret on Hilton Head Island. It is directly on the Intercoastal Waterway with 3 walls of floor to ceiling windows to give you a spectacular view of the boats going by on the waterway as well as the boats in the marina adjacent to the restaurant.

The food is excellent with only the freshest ingredients and beautifully served by attentive waiters. The wine list is extensive and fairly priced as is the menu.
