WOW! what fun and yummy!

It is what it is..a shack with great food and a local flair. Don't expect a luxury or spotless environment - just expect great food and interesting patrons. Great hushpuppies, the best fried fish on the island - you can wrap this in a napkin and the napkin comes away dry....none of that dripping, greasy stuff. This is how fish was meant to be served.
We love exceptional food and exceptional service, but places like Sea Shack bring you back to your roots. Good food, good prices, real people. If you go with that spirit, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
- Pros: food.
- Cons: the wait.
HORRIBLE!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
by foodiemj13
My husband and I rented a place on Hilton Head and we were told The Sea Shack was "Hilton Head's best kept secret." What a laugh! We tried to go to this place THREE TIMES during the week we were there, for lunch AND dinner and each time the line was through the parking lot. Finally, on our last night in town I tried to order take-out, when I called I was rudely informed on the phone they were not doing take-out orders that night. So we decided to go there and wait in line. After waiting in a line that literally DID NOT move for 20 minutes, we assumed that it was the line for a table and we just wanted to take away. My husband went inside to ask if we could just place a take away order, and the counter girl literally yelled in his face that the line was for take away. She was UNBELIEVABLY rude, I was shocked at how we were treated frankly. We left and will never return. I'm sorry, but I will not wait in line for an hour or more and be treated like trash to sit at a dingy picnic table in a sea shanty to eat fried fish in a newspaper that I could get from the frozen food section of Publix!!! Please please stay away people!!!!!!!!
- Pros: Absolutely nothing
- Cons: Service, wait, "decor" if it can be called that
best seafood, mom and pop place, no alcohol
by siroakleysmom
We enjoyed the seashack so much, that on our 6 day vacation we ate there twice. The price is reasonable, the people are nice, the only drawback is they don't serve alcohol. The address says "6 Pope Ave." We looked up and down Pope Ave. It is actually on Executive Circle Drive, off of Pope Ave. Executive Cir. Dr. is across the street from St. Lukes Church off of Pope Ave.
Going toward the beach on Pope Ave, you would turn left onto Executive Circle. (remember, doesn't look like much, but food is DELICIOUS! Will upload pictureswhen I get them back!
- Pros: seafood, and the salad, hushpuppies, and other side wonderull
- Cons: no alcoholic beverages served
