Disappointing experience. I visited two nights ago with a party of four. After we were seated, our waiter disappeared for a long period of time, leaving us unable to get refills on our drinks. When I did get an order taken for a second beer, it never showed up at our table although it did appear on the check. The complimentary bread did not come to our table. When we asked for it, our waiter went into a lengthy and unnecessary explanation of why it was not his fault. When we asked for water, we got another story about how he was not allowed to fill our water but how he would heroically find someone to do it. The food took so long that we finally gave up and asked to have it to go. To do this I had to leave my table and hunt down our waiter who was busy chatting with his cohorts near the kitchen. I can't really comment on the food since we took it away and it was cold when we ate it. Very bad experience!
Loved this place!!!. The location is a must-go, right on the dock of the bay, wonderful to eat outside. Italian statues, a well-designed menu, good wine, & the food was superb from the bread, salads, to the meal...wow! Key lime pie is authentic, no slimy yellow pie, but real green color & lime in it. The seafood/pasta was superb. Great staff/food, & here we were going to walk past it after reading the reviews, to Parrot Cove instead, loud crab cracking & a bad view. Sooo glad we turned back around to experience Little Venice! Wonderful!
I wouldn't go back. We met some new friends, and decided to meet them here for dinner. There were six of us, not such a large group in my estimation. However, we were there over two hours! The food was just okay. Small portions for the money. I was a bit disappointed and wouldn't return as there are so many GOOD restaurants there.
Not like Venice in the least. Hello to all HHI vacationers! We love the island!. Well, we had our Italian parents with us and unfortunately they were very disappointed. First, the menu didn't offer the Italian staples and a simple omission couldn't be accommodated. Secondly, we were served iceberg lettuce! The "gorgonzola" was all watery and that pretty much describes the experience -- utterly watered down and unfulfilling. Sure, they have the right spot but are not in the least offering the Italian quality one expects.
Surprise. This is a little treat on the Island because it is dependable and serves hot and well-seasoned Italian food quickly and for a reasonable price. Children can be accomodated outside and you can have a quiet night inside. Plenty of nice choices on the menu.
