Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye Healdsburg, Ca ABV: 8.0% Ibu: 80Brewed with 18% malted rye this might be one of the most balanced beers out there. This beer pours out in a deep amber color with a cream colored head. Aromas of toasted malts and spicy rye come to the forefront and are complimented by citrus and tropical fruit hops notes. The flavors follow the nose starting with toasty malts and smoky, spicy rye. The hops gradually work their way in with grapefruit, orange, ad lots of mango and then finish with grassy herbal notes. Near perfection in a bottle.

The flavors start out mellow but match the nose with toasted malt, chocolate, oatmeal and finishes with nice sweet notes of heavy cream.
